1. Information We Collect

A. Location Information

With your permission, we collect your device’s precise location only while you are using the app. We use your location to:

• Show events and activities near you

• Adjust the map view to your current position

Your location is not tracked continuously. However, location coordinates may be included in analytics events when you perform actions such as running a search.

You can disable location access in your device settings, though core features may not work without it.

B. Automatically Collected Data

We collect basic, anonymous technical information such as:

• IP address (from normal network requests)
• Device type and OS version
• App version
• Timezone
• Basic diagnostic and performance data

This information is used for operating the service, debugging issues, and preventing abuse.

C. Usage Analytics

We collect usage data to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This may include:

• Searches you perform (sent to our servers and logged in analytics)
• Events you view, favorite, or share
• Whether notifications are set
• General interaction patterns
• Your location coordinates (sent with every event search request)

These analytics events may include your approximate or precise location at the time of the action. They are associated only with your random device identifier, not with your name or contact information.

D. Device Identifier

We generate a random UUID and store it securely on your device. This identifier:

• Contains no personal information
• Helps us understand usage over time
• Is not linked to any account, name, email, or other identifying data

E. Local Data

The following information is stored on your device:

• Favorited events
• Notification reminders
• App preferences (e.g., tutorial completion)
• Cached map tiles
• Recent location searches

Deleting the app removes all local data from your device.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to:

• Provide core app functionality
• Show events near your current location
• Improve search results and app performance
• Fix bugs and prevent abuse
• Understand general usage trends

We do not sell your data or use it for targeted advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate parts of Ongeo:

• Supabase – processes and stores anonymous analytics data
• MapTiler – provides map tiles and styling (may receive standard IP/device info from your device when loading maps)

These third-party providers act as “processors” or “service providers” and may only process data on our behalf.

Links to event websites or ticketing pages are external sites with their own privacy policies.

4. Data Retention

Analytics data collected through your device identifier may be retained for operational and improvement purposes.

You may request deletion of analytics associated with your device identifier by contacting us at info@ongeo.app.

We do not maintain continuous location history, but individual location points related to app actions may be stored in analytics.

5. No Accounts Required

Ongeo does not require an account and does not collect:

• Names
• Email addresses
• Contact information
• Photos or media
• Contacts
• Calendar data

6. Children’s Privacy

Ongeo is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data Security

All network communication uses HTTPS encryption. We use industry-standard security practices to protect the data we handle.

8. Your Choices

You can disable location access in device settings, delete the app to remove all local data, or contact us to request deletion of analytics associated with your UUID.

8A. CCPA Consumer Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the right to request to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of personal information, and request information about how your data is used. Ongeo does not “sell” or “share” personal information as defined by the CCPA.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the app means you accept the updated policy.
